Effective date: 6 October 2026
This policy covers the Google Docs™ add-on “Pleading Paper & Caption Builder” (the add-on).
The add-on asks Google for two permissions:
documents.currentonly). The add-on reads and changes only the document you have open when you use it. It cannot open your other documents or your Google Drive.script.container.ui). This lets the add-on show its sidebar and help window. When you choose a menu item, the add-on:
The details you type (names, addresses, case number and similar) go into your document and nowhere else.
If the add-on hits an unexpected error, Google Apps Script may record the error message in the developer’s Google Cloud logs, as it does for any Apps Script project. These messages describe the failed step (for example “Caption table has no rows”). They do not contain your document text. Google keeps them for a limited time under its own retention rules.
The add-on’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can uninstall the add-on from Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons in Google Docs. You can revoke its permissions at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The pleading paper and caption the add-on added stay in your document until you remove them.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
